What is an Internship Supervisor?
A (minimum) 600-hour clinical internship is required for certification. Supervision by a professional with expertise and educational and/or professional background in the field is required. See additional details and resources below.
Requirements to be an Internship Supervisor
To be eligible to supervise interns, a CCLS must:
- Maintain professional child life certification throughout the supervisory period
- Have a minimum of 4,000 hours of paid child life clinical experience prior to the start of the supervisory period
- Take responsibility for the educational development and guidance of the candidate in the clinical setting

The ACLP Board of Directors has identified the following directives which together form the Pledge for Internship Equity and Access. Academic programs and internship sites are encouraged to sign the pledge.
