ACLP is seeking passionate volunteers to contribute their expertise and help shape the future of the child life profession. As a committee member, you’ll play a key role in developing resources, initiatives, and programs—aligning with ACLP’s Strategic Plan to strengthen our profession.

ACLP committees drive key initiatives, including expanding professional education, advancing research, strengthening member engagement, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. By volunteering, you help move this work forward and make a lasting impact.

Any individual in the child life community can apply for up to 2 committees. The application consists of demographic information and specific questions for each group of interest to help committee leaders assess your knowledge and skills relevant to their work.

2025-2026 Call for Volunteers Dates

The following are important dates related to the call for volunteers. Applications will be reviewed and processed in the order received.

  • March 17 – Call for Volunteers Opens

  • March 31 – Call for Volunteers Closes

  • May – Applicants Notified of Committee Selection

  • June 1, 2025 - May 31, 2026 – Committee Year

Eligibility
All volunteers must be ACLP members in good standing throughout their term.

Applications will be reviewed and processed in the order received. All volunteers are required to be in good standing with ACLP and an ACLP member during their term commitment. Individuals can apply for up to two committees. We will do our best to accommodate individuals first choice.

The application must not include any personal identifiers, such as:

  • Full names (of you, the recommender, or any other individuals)

  • Program names

  • Institutional names or locations

  • Company names or specific job title

The content should focus solely on your qualifications, skills, and experiences relevant to the application, without referencing identifiable details.

Failure to comply with this criterion may result in the denial of your application. We appreciate your attention to this requirement.
