NEWS RELEASE

Child Life Certification Commission (CLCC)
Receives Accreditation of its Child Life Specialist certification program from the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA)

The National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) has accredited the Child Life Certification Commission’s (CLCC) Child Life Specialist credential program for a five-year term, valid until September 30, 2029.

The CLCC is a professional certification body committed to safeguarding the public by establishing and enforcing rigorous standards in education, examination, experience, and ethics for child life professionals. Currently, over 6,000 individuals are certified to use the Certified Child Life Specialist designation.

The CLCC earned NCCA accreditation after demonstrating full compliance with NCCA’s stringent Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Programs. The NCCA, the accrediting arm of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE), has been a leader in professional certification since 1977, ensuring that programs adhere to the highest standards of quality and practice.

There are more than 315 NCCA-accredited programs certifying professionals in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, finance, emergency services, and more. Of ICE’s more than 370 organizational members, 130 of them have accredited programs.

ICE’s mission is to advance credentialing through education, standards, research, and advocacy to ensure competence across professions and occupations. Through its peer review process, NCCA establishes rigorous accreditation standards, evaluates programs’ compliance, and recognizes those that meet its benchmarks. It also serves as a vital resource for quality assurance in professional certification.
