What group discussion forums are available to CLC members?

In addition to the general, all-members Forum, there are several special interest discussion groups. These  include:

 
Can CLC add additonal Forums based on topics of interest to CLC members?

For the time being, CLC has intentionally limited the number of discussion forums currently active on CLC Community. Those that have been established are generally defined by a specific professional role, as opposed to areas of specialization or other, more focused topics. In most cases, we encourage members to reach out to a larger group of their peers through the General Forum, rather than limiting the discussion to a smaller subset of members, so that all may learn from the ongoing exchange of ideas. Even if the topic or discussion may seem to be limited to a particular audience or specialty, chances are that many other CLC members will be interested in hearing what you have to say.

With that said, CLC welcomes member suggestions and input on what additional special interest groups you would like to see added to the CLC Community as it continues to develop and grow. Please contact resources@childlife.org with your feedback.

 
Which email address are you using to send me messages on the CLC Forum and how can I change it?

Because the CLC Community system is integrated with the CLC database, all subscriptions have been set up using the Member Profile email address from your CLC user profile. This is the email CLC has always kept  on file in your member record and uses to send you all CLC communications, such as member renewal notices, CLC Notes and Child Life News Monthly. If you would like to use a separate email address for your Forum account, log in to your member profile and add or update your Forum Messages Email, then click Save and Continue. Once you confirm your changes (click Save and Continue again), please note it may take up to 24 hours for forum messages to begin routing to your updated email address. 

 

I am getting too many Forum emails. How can I change my settings to receive less

To change your settings to receive a digest version of the Forum messages, instead of each message individually, login to CLC Community.  Under Your Account Options, select Manage Your Subscriptions.  On the subscriptions page, you will see a list of forums you are currently subscribed to.  From the dropdown menu to the right of each subscription, select your preferred option.

Summary Digest sends one message a day with a list of just the titles of the forum posts from that day, with links.
Full Digest sends the full text from all forum posts received that day, plus links to attachments.

 
 
I notice some older Forum messages coming from “Unknown User,” or an archived message I wrote is not linked to my CLC Community profile. What does this mean?

Archived messages that display “Unknown User” as the sender are generally messages that came from someone who is no longer a CLC member. In some cases, the archived message may have come from a current CLC member whose email address has changed, or otherwise wasn’t recognized in the CLC database. However, the authors of these messages are generally still identifiable through the information provided in their email signature lines.
