As part of the Child Life Council Green Initiative, CLC has moved to paperless (primarily Web and email-based) communication with members, in order to conserve environmental resources. Therefore, membership cards are no longer issued. Your online CLC User Profile now contains the most up-to-date information concerning your CLC membership.
You will not lose your Certified Child Life Specialist credential if you choose not to renew your membership with CLC. Although the CCLS credentialing program is administered by CLC, it is a separate program with distinct fees, requirements, and benefits.
Of course, CLC highly encourages everyone to dial in to the child life professional community by becoming members. Members receive a number of valuable benefits, including access to the CLC Forum, the Career Center, and a subscription to the Bulletin, CLC's quarterly newsletter. Certified Child Life Specialists who maintain membership with CLC enjoy substantial member discounts on Certification Fees, CLC Annual Conference registration fees, and CLC Bookstore items. If you pay your membership dues online, a receipt will automatically be generated upon the completion of your online payment. If you did not pay your membership dues online and you need a receipt, please send your request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The best time to change your membership category is when your membership is due for renewal. Once you have received a renewal notice via email, log in to your CLC User Profile, select "Visit Profile," scroll down to Membership Information, select "Pay member dues," and on the Member Type dropdown menu select the appropriate membership type. Once your membership dues payment amount adjusts to reflect your new membership type, you may proceed with your online payment.
Thank you for attempting to pay your membership dues online! Typically, you will not see a membership invoice in your user profile until 30 days before your membership is due to expire. In cases where your membership is due to expire in less than 30 days, and you still do not see an invoice, please send an email to email@example.com and a CLC staff member will assist you.
You may update your contact information directly through the CLC Web site! To update your contact information, log in to your CLC User Profile. Once you have logged in, select "Visit Profile," and then "Edit Contact Information," to make the necessary adjustments. Click "Save and Continue" to confirm the changes.
